From Fear to Excitement
How do you turn fear into excitement? If you are afraid of a situation or experience, know that fear does not have to be your first response. Fear is a powerful emotion that can help motivate us, but it also has the power to paralyze us from taking action. That being said, there are many ways to channel and go from fear to excitement. The key is understanding why we’re feeling scared in the first place and developing strategies to use that energy constructively—a lot of the fear we have started to accumulate early in childhood for various reasons. My earliest recollection of fear was at the age of five.
The first step is to accept your fear. It’s okay to feel scared – we all do! But recognizing our fear allows us to work through it more productively. Once you identify your fears, consider what might happen if you embrace them instead of running away. Facing our fears can give us the confidence to take on life’s challenges and gain experiences that will benefit us in the long run.
It also helps to think of each challenge as an adventure. Think of every opportunity as an exploration and create a mental plan of attack. This can help keep us focused on the end goal while allowing ourselves to get lost along the way – which may result in even more discoveries than expected!
Finally, try using positive affirmations like “I am strong,” “I am brave,” or whatever makes you feel good when facing challenging situations. Visualizing success can give you an added boost of confidence that could make all the difference in achieving great things. Fear should never hold you back from living your best life! You can manifest anything that you desire. So take control and move from fear to excitement – who knows what opportunities may arise? Can you think of anything that you would manifest if you weren’t afraid at this very moment?
The truth is fear is an illusion. I realized that shortly before my awakening. I remember asking myself one day, “what am I so afraid of?” I realized that my fears arose from conditioning, like being bullied or experiencing abuse. There was nothing life-threatening about my fears. Realizing this, it dawned on me that I could overcome the fears because they were just illusions. Once it sunk in, I began to shift from fear to excitement. Instead of being afraid to speak, I became excited about sharing my story.
Instead of being afraid of being on camera, I decided to take it as a challenge to do it anyway. Do you know how to move from fear to excitement? No? Take the things that hold you back and get excited about taking the reigns. You will find that there is nothing to be afraid of. There isn’t. It is all an illusion. You can do it! “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” Jack Canfield
