Vampires at the Party
I had an interesting dream about vampires at a party. It all started with an eerie feeling of wind moving through my skull. This continued for a few days, peaking with a light thumping on January 24th, 2020. This was not a new experience. On the 23rd of January, however, I dreamt about the vampires at a party. I found myself sitting in the kitchen at 3:10 AM. It was one of those vivid dreams where everything feels intensely real. I wasn’t alone, though. My current boss, my mom, and another person whose face I can’t recall were sitting at the kitchen table.
Out of nowhere, I noticed a small group of vampires approaching the house. It happened so fast—one second, they were outside, and the next, they were in the kitchen with us. Things escalated quickly. Then, a woman pulled out a piece of dark green glass shaped like an emblem from behind something on the counter. We each grabbed a shard of this green glass, and just like that, we turned into vampires ourselves. Then, things turned into a full-blown panic. Amidst the chaos, I realized my mom was in trouble outside. She was being chased, so I rushed out to help her. And just as I stepped outside to join her, I woke up from the dream.
Dreams and Symbols
The dream left me pondering as a verse from Ephesians 6:12 came to mind: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against municipalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
It felt oddly relevant, like a vivid metaphor for facing personal or spiritual challenges. We aren’t fighting against anything on the outside of us. The outer world is a reflection of our internal struggles. Scripture is often misinterpreted, but it is revealed through symbolism to those with ears to hear as they awaken. There is still so much in my dreams that I don’t understand. However, I know in time that all things will be revealed.
Interestingly, when I was a child, I had a recurring dream about vampires. Every year around Valentine’s Day, I dreamt that I was bitten on the neck. This happened for several years. Dreams like these can be more than random; they can reveal profound truths about our fears, hopes, and battles in our inner lives.
