The Mustard Seed

The Mustard Seed

The mustard seed is mentioned in the Gospel of Thomas and other Books of the Bible. The mustard is the smallest of all seeds.  Matthew 17:20-21 tells the parable of the mustard seed: “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

However, this post discusses verses nineteen and twenty from The Gospel of Thomas. In verse nineteen, Jesus said, “I shall give you what no eye has seen and what no ear has heard and what no hand has touched and what has never occurred to the human mind.” Then, in verse twenty, the disciples said to Jesus, “Tell us what the kingdom of heaven is like.” He said to them, “It is like a mustard seed. It is the smallest of all seeds. But when it falls on tilled soil, it produces a great plant and becomes a “shelter for birds of the sky.”

Jesus is the personification of a state of consciousness. That state is the power and wisdom of God. When the spirit comes upon man during his journey of awakening, he is given the power and wisdom to embody a state free of limitations.  The veil is lifted from the third-dimensional reality. This is awakening. Let your faith be even as small as the mustard seed, and all things will be revealed.

It is impossible to conceive of what exists within consciousness (God) with the human senses. However, those who have ears and hear; for those who have faith, even as small as a mustard seed, are given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed. The birds of the sky in the last sentence of verse twenty represent infinite ideas and desires.

Therefore, cultivate your awareness and inner knowingness that you are God and that all things exist. You will begin to see the kingdom of heaven alive within you as you manifest your desires into reality. Any idea that you have can be realized. Everything we experience in our physical reality. Therefore, anything we can imagine already exists. Having the smallest amount of faith, you can manifest anything you can imagine.
