Using Hypnosis for Depression
I tried using hypnosis for depression, and it helped me before my awakening. So, I’ve had several people ask how to start using hypnosis therapy for depression. What if I told you that self-hypnosis is as easy as three steps? First, you need to realize that your mind can only process around seven items at any given time. Right now, your mind is processing the temperature of the room and sounds and controlling your breathing rate. These are all subconscious processes – well, they were subconscious until I pointed them out to you. Now they are conscious thoughts.
Your subconscious mind records every single detail of every moment. You are not even aware that it’s been happening since birth. All those moments you can’t even remember have all been stored. Certain events become so traumatic that they are buried deep in these subconscious memories. Specific events then trigger those emotions.
Your subconscious mind is trying to do what’s best for you. So it’s trying to save you from those painful, damaging memories. Hypnosis will help you to develop better subconscious thoughts to offset those painful ones. It’s not a magical formula that cures depression. But it can be a powerful part of an overall plan to cope with it.
Hypnosis for Depression in 3 Easy Steps!
Now let’s look at a simple formula to get you on the right track.
Step 1: Simplify the Process
You’ll want to start by identifying the following three things.
- Duration: How long do you want your mind to soak in subconscious thoughts before bed each night?
- Goals: What are your overall goals for using hypnosis? What exactly are you trying to eliminate? Be specific here.
- Feelings: What emotions do you want to experience from your sessions?
Step 2: Hypnotize Yourself
Once you understand the overall purpose of your sessions, invest in hypnosis audio that aligns with those goals. You also need to make sure it’s the right length. Then listen to it as you are going to sleep. This is the time when your mind is at its most relaxed.
There’s nothing else required but to relax here. But if you find the audio makes you restless, try going into a trance. Tell yourself, “I’m going into a trance now. It’s easy to go into a trance.” Then focus on the audio as your mind relaxes. Your mind will obey, but you must honestly believe what you are saying.
Step 3: Relax
Allow yourself to drift off to sleep. You might feel like you’re floating or drift off sooner than planned. That’s okay because your unconscious mind will still soak in the information. We all have different experiences regarding hypnosis, so whatever you experience will be right for you.
Final Thoughts
When you tap into the subconscious mind, you rewire how triggers affect you. So this will help offset many of the symptoms of depression. Just remember that you should combine this with other forms of therapy if needed.
