“Let go of everything that you hold onto, which does not serve you anymore. Be light, walk faster”
Letting Go of People and Things
Letting go of the people and things in your life that no longer serve you is not selfish. I’ve had this debate with myself as I’ve thought about the type of people I want to surround myself with.
I am consistently working on self-growth to ensure I never go back to the place I existed in for so long. That means making sure I stay positive and stay moving as much as possible. That means not spending hours watching television. It means staying away from drama. It also means being aware of negative energy or a lazy mentality.
There was a time when I spent so much time sitting on my ass because I was depressed or anxious and could not deal with my emotions properly. The last thing I want to do now is to sit on my ass. I won’t rest until I’ve accomplished every goal I set for myself.
Do You Need to Let go of Someone or Something?
Do you have something or someone in your life that no longer fits in with where you are and what you want to accomplish in life? If so, really evaluate what value that person or thing adds to your life. If it is a family member or friend then you could simply spend less time with them. You may feel the need to cut a toxic friend out of your life for good. If you are trying to lose weight then stop buying junk food. If you spend too much time on social media (I’ve been guilty) then remove the apps from your phone.
Finally, if you struggle to do any of these things then ask yourself why? You might have to dig deep to find the answer but keep at it! Let go of what no longer serves you. Get after your dreams, live your authentic life.
